I'm a writer, editor and content strategist with 8+ years experience in creating vibrant editorial and consumer content and improving user experiences through clear messaging. I'm also a motivated team leader who is passionate about innovation, efficiency and big-picture thinking.
STORYTELLING & CONTENT STRATEGY:
I concept and create dynamic digital content for the Nordstrom website, mobile apps, emails and blog, in addition to developing strategy decks and creative guides to communicate content strategy, UX guidelines and story devices to the Digital Creative team. I’m also a skilled user advocate who’s devoted to UI/UX principles.
I've reported for The Los Angeles Times, LA Weekly, The Huffington Post, KPCC Public Radio and The Cape Times newspaper in South Africa. As a reporter, I've covered everything from stolen paintings to entrepreneurship in South Africa. In 2010, I was nominated for the Penny Lernoux Award for International Reporting.
MANAGEMENT & LEADERSHIP:
As an editor, I've managed multiple reporters and spearheaded large multimedia initiatives, including the launch of Annenberg Digital News, an award-winning news site that I helped develop into the most-read university publication in the nation.
EDUCATION:
I earned my Master's Degree in Journalism from the University of Southern California, where I was an Annenberg Dean's Scholar and taught Media History.
